Breakthrough SMS Technology for Charity Funding

MAXXIUM USA, Inc. ("MAXXIUM"), which will deploy its Mobile Payment System solutions within the USA, Mexico, and Canada: aid organizations and charities will be able to become third party providers of the system and thereby increase their incomes while providing a service to the public and businesses .

Supporters of the organizations will be able to pay for goods and services, receive request balance enquiries and statements, do inter-account transfers , pay bills and invoices, or send money to friends simply by sending an SMS message such as ‘PAY $1,000 to 612 3474200’.

According to Godwin Essien, President and CEO of MAXXIUM, “There are no coins, no bank notes, no waiting for change: it is all fast, secure and easy to use. It is similar to using a debit or credit card.”

“The system allows instant processing of payments between people and businesses, with no clearance waiting period. The processing time is approximately 15 seconds and the received funds are immediately available for use.”

Aid organizations will merely ask supporters to join the service – free of charge. After a person has registered by phone, SMS or internet, they may use the SMS Financial transactions to send to transact with any other party in the countries on the service; recipients who are not registered may join and transact with a simple SMS message.

Every transaction processed will attract a commission to the organization’s funds: cost will vary, but will be about 2% of the amount transacted – a portion of which is rebated to the aid organization as donor income. According to MAXXIUM’S Vice President, Stanford Lifschitz: “ The fee is very small in comparison to credit card transaction fees, and gives a real commercial benefit, quite apart from the charitable side.”

“Since every recipient of payments must first join the service before receiving money in their accounts, the natural growth of the system’s use is phenomenal – and every new user becomes a part of the aid organization’s network: the math is impressive – please take a calculator and work out the figures based on the following: suppose an aid organization has 1,000 registered supporters, each spending $1,000 per month, gaining effective donations of ½% of transaction amount per person per month ($5 per person per month) : if each new recipient of transactions registers, another 1,000 registrations will accrue under the organization’s banner – and they will in turn continue the same process.
